Pre-hospital RN (PHRN)
Requirements
- Current unencumbered Pennsylvania RN license.
- Current CPR and ACLS.
- Successful completion a Pennsylvania EMT practical exam or NREMTP skills exam (current Pennsylvania RN with current EMT doesn't have to repeat practical.)
- Successful completion of Paramedic Assessment exam.
- Current Pennsylvania RN and Paramedic can receive reciprocity.
An PHRN may function at the ALS level within the EMS system only as authorized by the Medical Director of their ALS ambulance service(s).
Requirements for medical command eligibility include:
- Current CPR and eighteen (18 hours) of annual con-ed (minimum of nine (9) hours medical/trauma.)
