Mount Union Ambulance Service has immediate openings for Part Time EMT's.

We are a rural EMS provider of Basic Life Support services to the southeastern end of Huntingdon County and western part of Mifflin County. Our service area covers approximately a 7 mile radius from the borough of Mount Union and responding to over 800 calls for emergency and transport services. We are looking for individuals that are currently certified as an EMT in the Commonwealth of PA.

Our service is also considering expanding and upgrading our service from BLS to ALS in the future. We would like to obtain resumes from established Paramedics that would be interested in working ALS shifts in the future with our service should we successfully obtain ALS Licensure. 

To be considered for a position with our service, the applicant should meet the following requirements:

Have a current EMT certification card.
Have a current AHA CPR card.
Possess a current PA Driver License (EVOC certified a plus).
Provide any other certifications (Vehicle Rescue, CPAP, etc.).
Letter of recommendation from current or past employers, if available.

HALAS currently has immediate openings for both casual and full time Paramedics. New Paramedics are encouraged and welcomed. Casual Paramedic rates at $15.00/hr with flexible scheduling. FT Paramedic rates at $15.50/hr for five (5), 8 hours shifts per week. FT Paramedic rates at $16.75/hr for opting into a 24 hour rotation. HALAS has options for both individual and family medical benefits paid by the company. FT Paramedics can opt out of medical benefits, providing they have other coverage and will receive a portion of their premiums as a reimbursement. Vision and Dental plans offered to FT employees. HALAS Inc. has proudly offered emergent and non-emergent medical service to the Hollidaysburg area since 1939. Currently HALAS provides 24 hour Advanced Life Support from its main headquarters on Scotch Valley road in Hollidaysburg and from two sub-stations—one at the Meadows intersections (Hollidaysburg) and one in the borough of Martinsburg. Our fleet includes seven ambulances, one medic intercept vehicle, and 3 invalid coaches for para-transit services. HALAS is the second largest EMS organization in Blair County. Last year, HALAS responded on 5950 ambulance calls.
